So I got my first roll of color 35mm pics back from developing at Shoppers today. I shot 3 rolls of 120 film but I won't get those back from Stan C Reade's until Tuesday. The first thing I noticed is how "good" most of the pics turned out. I used a 35 mm adapter that I got from Urban Outfitters when I bought the Holga and it did a pretty good job. I didn't see any light leaks at all. My next roll of 35mm I am shooting with no adapter so hopefully it should provide some cool sprocket hole exposures.
The other interesting thing I noticed is how I was grossly over cranking the film advances. I wasted about half the 24 exposure roll with over cranks. O well now i know to follow the 24 click method. I was just doing a full turn plus a few clicks which some how made the wasted film stock increase over time.
Also I noticed that my distance to my subjects was way off. I should have stepped back double what I thought the proper distance was as you will see in some of the pics. Also when shooting 35mm head and shoulder portraits I need to turn the camera vertical and not shoot in "normal" horizontal mode.
